Held over a two-day period, Soccer Summit 2007 will address important issues affecting Select Clubs, Premier Clubs, Recreational Soccer, and Association Presidents. The purpose of the soccer summit is to bring together our diverse groups through the community to discuss, analyze and conclude with a direction that we can all agree on with a continuing focus on our future. The Soccer Summit will focus on the U-12 Player to the U-19 Players, with break out groups mediated by Dave Schumacher, State Coaching Director, Bryan Vasbinder, VP of Recreation, Mike Margolis, VP of Development, Stu Snow, District 3 commissioner and District 3 Commissioner as moderator.
As the newest initiative under the current leadership, WSYSA recognized that in order to unite the state and establish a cohesive plan for future soccer development, it was imperative to create a forum where coaches and administrators could openly share their ideas and knowledge. The Saturday session will spotlight our recreational/select programs. There will be a Saturday evening session with the Association Presidents and the BOD. The Sunday session will be for the Premier Clubs with state league teams, Coaching Directors, Presidents of the these clubs and their Associations.
The first event of its kind to bring the entire state soccer community together in this format, WSYSA hopes that the discussions and goals set forth with inclusive participation at the Soccer Summit will ultimately open the lines of communication and strengthen youth soccer throughout Washington. It is our mission that we can collaborate as a soccer community and prioritize the issues that are affecting our players and the communities that we call home.
