REQUIRED FOR TRYOUTS

  • $10 fee (checks payable to NYSA-FCA)

  • Shinguards (mandatory)

  • Turf-appropriate shoes (all sessions are on turf fields)

  • Water (only water is permitted on the turf fields)

  • Warm-ups to keep warm while staying on the sidelines.

  • Completed Registration Form, with parent signature - 2008 Tryout Registration Form

  • Copy of birth certificate (will be returned to you)

  • Do not wear any clothing or uniform pieces from past teams.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT TRYOUTS

  • Each age group will have two two-hour tryout sessions. A third session may be scheduled to ensure the evaluators get a chance to see everyone.

  • The team coaches from the age group, and other FCA coaches, will evaluate all players on a numerical standard from 1 (high) to 6 (low).

  • Player scores are logged into a computer, and an average score is generated for each player.

  • The 16-18 players with the top scores will form the first team, the next 16-18 players will form the second team, etc.  The U11 (U10) teams will have a roster of 12-14 players.

  • All players will be notified of their placement by the team coach.

IF YOU ARE INJURED

  • If you are injured and unable to compete fully at tryouts, you will need to bring a note from your doctor detailing the injury along with an estimate of when you can resume training.

  • Injured players will be assigned a jersey number, and their injury will be noted on the tryout evaluator sheet.

TEAM ORGANIZATION

Within 10 days of the group’s final session, the team will meet to complete the necessary registration forms, collect the team fees and order uniforms.
