Coaching Director Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to the FCA Executive Committee and attend all board meetings
- Recruit, select, and recommend team coaches for contract by the FCA Executive Committee
- Coach will work with team coaches, players and parents on minor problem solving and conflict resolution. Make decisions on player placement, players playing up, and movement within teams from the club
- In cooperation with the Director of Player Development, organize and run summer and/or school vacation camps for the club that remain consistent with the club developmental philosophy
- In cooperation with the VP of Competition, oversee tournament selections by teams to ensure proper placement for player development.
- Organize, manage and oversee the tryout process and player selection.
- Observe and evaluate practice sessions as appropriate and offer guidance where necessary.
- Conduct coach meetings at least quarterly.
- Train and monitor the team coaches and help them plan and implement practice sessions consistent with this agreement and the materials referenced in this agreement, and the principles of FCA, NYSA and WYS.
- Design and administer a continuing education program for the team coaches, and encourage license level advancement
- Educate the players and the parents about the playing opportunities beyond the club level
- Promote the club within the community and help with public relations
- Coach will attend at least three club training sessions, or as necessary to maintain the continuity of the program.
- Coach will attend the Camp Casey training weekend.
- Coach is responsible for developing a coach evaluation processand completing two (2) evaluations per coach during the duration of this agreement, no less than three (3) months between evaluations.
- Assist in all general administration work as directed by the FCA Executive Committee
- Create and maintain networks with surrounding clubs.
- Coach will be available for substitute coaching, mentoring, and training as deemed necessary
